WHy Can’t I self-learn online instead of in-person coaching?
As someone who has learned bass both ways, I can tell you it's like having a personal fitness trainer versus following YouTube workout videos. While online learning is great for flexibility and budget, private lessons offer immediate technique correction and personalised guidance that can prevent bad habits from forming.
Some people could also do with the extra motivation, structure, and consistency. (Couldn’t we all, though?)

Do I need my own bass guitar?
You'll need a bass for lessons and practice at home. Here are great options for beginners if you haven't gotten one yet!
I'm completely new to music - can I still learn?
Absolutely! Many students started from zero. I’ll move at your pace and make sure you're comfortable every step of the way.
What styles can I learn with you?
I specialise in modern church music, gospel, funk, rock, and metal, but I'm happy to explore other styles you're interested in!
Where do we meet?
Lessons are at my cosy studio in the Northwest of Singapore. I'll send you detailed directions after booking.
How long are the lessons?
We'll spend a full hour together each session - plenty of time to learn, practice, and get your questions answered.
How do lessons work?
We'll meet weekly, and lessons are booked in batches of 12. This gives us enough time to really develop your skills and see meaningful progress.
If you’re unable to make a slot, no worries! Just let me know 24 hours in advance and we’ll arrange for a make-up slot for you. You may accumulate up to 2 make-up lessons at any one time.
WHAT ARE YOUr LESSON RATES?
When you book the complete 12-lesson package (1hr per lesson), the rate is $70/hour ($840 total) when paid in full upfront.
For your convenience, I also offer a payment plan option where you can pay in three instalments of $300 (covering 4 lessons each) at a slightly higher rate of $75/hour.
Why do you only offer packages of 12 lessons? Can't I just try a one-off lesson?
While I offer a free trial lesson to help you decide, regular lessons are offered by the dozen because real progress comes from consistent practice and learning.
12 lessons within a 4-month time frame gives us enough time and frequency to:
• Develop proper technique foundations
• Build your skills systematically
• Track meaningful progress
• Establish effective practice habits
The free trial lets you experience the environment and my teaching style before committing.
What if something comes up and I need to reschedule?
Life happens! Just let me know at least 24 hours ahead, and I'll help you find another slot. You may accumulate up to 2 make-up lessons at any one time.
What if I have a last-minute emergency?
While I understand emergencies happen, any lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will be forfeited. Please keep me informed regardless!
How do I pay for lessons?
To keep things simple, payment is made in advance via PayNow to my mobile number.
Can I get a refund if I need to stop?
While I don't normally offer refunds for partially completed packages, I'm happy to discuss any concerns you have before committing.
How can I try out lessons before committing?
I offer a free trial lesson so you can experience the environment and my teaching style to make sure we're a good fit.
